WELCOME TO RECYCLED WORKSHOPS WEBSITE!

Recycled Workshops was an Erasmus+ KA210-YOU project that ran from February 2024 to June 2025. It addressed a simple but important challenge: how to make youth work less wasteful while keeping it engaging and accessible. Many workshops still relied on disposable materials, and this project showed that change was possible by applying the 5R (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle).

ABOUT PROJECT

Recycled Workshops was an Erasmus+ KA210-YOU project. The project addressed a simple but widespread issue in youth work: many workshops and mobility activities still generated unnecessary waste, even as sustainability became a shared European priority. Its main goal was to make youth work more environmentally responsible by embedding the 5R principles (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle) into everyday practice.

Throughout its implementation, the partnership designed and tested three core outputs: a 48-hour Training Programme, a Toolkit featuring 15 practical tools for youth workers, and an Online Platform that brings all materials together in one accessible digital space. All resources were co-created and piloted with youth workers and young people, ensuring that they are practical, adaptable, and ready to use in real-life youth work settings.

The strength of Recycled Workshops lies in its combination of tested educational content and open accessibility. By the end of the project, it had directly involved more than 185 youth workers and reached over 3,500 visitors through its online platform. Its impact continues today through this platform, which remains freely available to all organizations that aim to make their youth activities more sustainable and aligned with Europe’s green transition goals.

PROJECT PARTNERS

Recycled Workshops was developed through a strong and diverse partnership between three organizations from Germany, Belgium, and Türkiye, each bringing unique expertise to the project.

  • Green Muse e.V. (Germany) coordinated the project and guided its overall vision, ensuring that sustainability and non-formal education remained at its core.

  • European Development Institute (Belgium) led the digital component by designing the Online Platform, making the project’s results accessible to youth workers across Europe.

  • Devridaim (Türkiye) contributed its experience in environmental education and creative recycling, developing the Toolkit of practical tools for sustainable workshops.

Together, the partners combined their strengths in youth work, sustainability, and innovation, creating a lasting European cooperation that demonstrates how greener practices can easily be integrated into everyday youth activities.
