The Recycled Workshops Training Programme was created to help youth workers strengthen their understanding of sustainability and learn how to design and lead zero-waste workshops and activities. It focuses on transforming everyday youth work practices through the 5R principles: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, and Recycle.
The programme offers a complete 48-hour learning experience, combining theoretical sessions, practical workshops, and reflection activities. It guides participants step by step through the process of integrating sustainability into youth work — from planning and material selection to implementation and evaluation.
Developed collaboratively by the project partners and tested with youth workers from different countries, the Training Programme is based on non-formal education methods that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. Its activities are adaptable to various contexts, making it suitable for both experienced trainers and newcomers to the topic of environmental education.
The content is organized in a clear, structured format that allows youth workers to easily apply what they learn in their own organizations. It also serves as a foundation for the project’s other results, the Toolkit and the Online Platform, ensuring that the knowledge gained can be translated into real action and long-term impact.
