TOOLKIT
The Recycled Workshops Toolkit is a practical guide designed to help youth workers bring sustainability into action. It contains 15 ready-to-use tools and methods that make it easy to plan, deliver, and evaluate workshops with minimal waste and maximum creativity.
Each tool focuses on one or more of the 5R principles (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle) and can be adapted to different workshop formats, learning topics, and age groups. The materials are simple and flexible, often using recycled or natural resources that are easy to find locally.
The Toolkit was created and tested with youth workers and young people to ensure that it is practical, accessible, and realistic for everyday use. It promotes hands-on, experience-based learning, encouraging participants to reflect on their own environmental impact and explore creative alternatives.
Rather than relying on printed content or large-scale materials, the Toolkit demonstrates that effective learning can happen with very few physical resources. It invites youth workers to rethink how workshops are designed and to choose sustainable solutions in every step of their work.
The Toolkit is available as free and downloadable below and can be used independently or alongside the Training Programme.
